Your Glamping Accommodation
Our custom designed safari tents are spacious and fully furnished with excellent kitchens, comfortable bedrooms and shower rooms with all mod cons. The bedrooms consist of a master bedroom with a king size bed, twin room and a bunk bed room (full size bunk beds suitable for adults), sleeping a maximum of 6 people. The open plan living and dining area includes a wood burner, dining room table and chairs and cosy sofas. The kitchen has a sink, fridge, microwave and an oven with hob for easy cooking.
Guests can open up the front of the tent to enjoy some el fresco dining on the outside decking area and relish in the outdoor surroundings. When the evenings draw in then the wood burner can be lit to enjoy some family time around the fire. You only need to step outside the tent to admire the stars as Scilly suffers from little light pollution so Scilly’s night sky is perfect for star gazing. The cosiness of lanterns and the fire really makes this a truly unforgettable holiday.
Peninnis Farm is all about leaving the mainland world behind (including the TV & video games!) and enjoying the relaxed slower pace of island life but with all your creature comforts to hand. Everything you will need for your stay with us at Peninnis is provided. All bed linen, towels (including beach towels), kitchen utensils, electricity, Wi-Fi and hot water is included which many other glamping sites do not normally provide as part of the total holiday cost.
We do also provide washing machines and tumble dryers (for a nominal fee) and freezer space on the farm for guests’ use. There is also outdoor furniture provided on the decking areas with a charcoal BBQ/fire pit – perfect for barbequing our local meat or fish, or perhaps even your own catch!
We have seven tents in total, named after the islands gigs – Bonnet, Golden Eagle, Czar, Nornour, Serica, Shah and Dolphin. Due to the islands being a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the local planning authority required the tents to be positioned on a visually low impact site. To facilitate this, the tents are located across two fields, sheltered from the prevailing winds by traditional Pittosporum hedges, making the area a real suntrap.
Guests will have access to otherwise private areas on the farm which are just a few meters away down a private track and which benefits from superb panoramic island and sea views. At this stunning spot, guests are welcome to have picnics and BBQ’s, play ball games and admire the spectacular sea views to Porthcressa and Samson as well as taking in the breath-taking sunsets. From this position guests will be able to see Bishop Rock Lighthouse which features on BBC One just before the national evening news. Why not take out a bottle of wine and enjoy the sun setting between Samson’s hills and enjoy some peace and tranquility?
Please note that we cannot allow the pitching of regular tents on the farm due to local authority planning restrictions.
Dogs are welcome (subject to availability) outside school holidays and only when we cater for short breaks. There will be a £50 charge per dog and a maximum of 2 dogs per tent. We will require a £50 refundable security deposit which will be returned within 2 weeks of departure if the tent is left as it was found. Dogs must be kept under control and on a lead during your stay and must not be left in the tent unsupervised or allowed on any beds or sofas, evidence of this will mean the forfeiture of the deposit. It is vital that you let us know at time of booking if you wish to bring a dog so that we can allocate you the most appropriate tent when you arrive as some tents are kept dog free. Bookings with dogs cannot be made online so please email us – firstname.lastname@example.org.
At Peninnis Farm we are passionate about recycling and we encourage our guests to separate their glass, cans and paper into the allocated bins.
